Practice Swims

Due to the fact that our swim will be conducted in a working port area, you will be unable to swim the course prior to race day. Options for swim prior to this are the Hobart aquatic Centre (within walking distance within the CBD) or open water swimming at Sandy Bay or Nut grove beach.

Race Registrations

It will be compulsory to provide the following forms of identification at race registration

  1. Drivers Licence with photo ID
  2. Triathlon Australia Membership card or National Federation Identification Card
  3. Any other form of photo ID

* Please note this is compulsory with no flexibility

Please ensure the following:

  1. Helmet Sticker is placed on the front of your helmet 
  2. Bike Security sticker is clearly visible and placed on your bike head stem or main bar
  3. Race Bib is pinned on the Back of your race singlet for the bike leg and front of your race singlet for the run leg. If using a number belt please ensure your number is clearly visible at all times.

Race Numbering procedures:

Race numbering will take place on the waterside of the transition area on Sunday morning. Please check numbering times on the race week schedule.
All age group athletes must be numbered before entering Transition area via the doors on the waterside of the Princes Wharf Number 1 Shed.
Elite numbering will take place in the elite Transition area starting 1hour prior to each event.

You will be required to have a number on:

  1. Both arms
  2. The front of your left thigh
  3. Your category letter on your right calf

Swim Start Procedure

You will be required to assemble 15 minutes prior to your swim start adjacent to the St Johns Ambulance Tent North of the number one shed. You will then be escorted to the swim start area but please note you will not be allowed to enter the water until 10 minutes before your advertised start time.

Warm up

The swim warm up area will be limited and you are requested to only swim on the Southern side of the swim course closest to the Shed number 1, please respect the swimmers that are already on the course racing.

PLEASE NOTE THE SWIM IS A DEEP WATER START FOR ALL ATHLETES

Wheel Change over – Elite, U23 Elite and Junior Elite only

The Location allocated for the sole purpose of wheel exchange will be located on Castray Esplanade approximately 70m past the transition area. It will be the athletes/coaches responsibility to deliver spare wheels clearly labelled to this area 30mins prior to the individual race times. A local bike mechanic will be present at this designated area
