Welcome to the all new 2008 Scody Triathlon Team’s Challenge

We’re back and there are plenty of new improved additions to the opener of the 2008/09 Triathlon season.

Now absorbed into one big day of racing the dynamic Scody Australian Triathlon Club Team’s Challenge returns with a couple of changes including mass starts and teams being reduced to 3 athletes per team which means you can start with 2 athletes.

Also coming back is the always loved Scody Just Tri It Triathlon. Catering for all fitness levels the 300m swim, 10km flat ride and flat fast 3km run course is achievable for athletes of all levels and ages. This event will be closely followed by the Trystars event which is for the kiddies between the ages of 7 and 13 years of age. Last year saw the adult’s race first and then everyone stayed around to witness a truly memorable Trystars event.

NEW to 2008/09 is the Scody Corporate Teams Challenge. Corporate teams will be able to enter in of 3 athletes and represent their work places in the quest to be crowned the fittest corporation. The rules will be exactly the same as the famous Scody Australian Triathlon Club Team’s Championships and will provide non-club members with the opportunity to engage in a great team building exercise whilst enjoying the sport of triathlon.

So pencil in Sunday 28 September 2008, as the date to start your 2008/09 triathlon season at the Sydney International Regatta Centre.

BRATS 3-PEAT

The 2007/08 Scody Australian Club Team's Championships have seen the creation of a dynasty.  The Bondi Running and Triathlon Club (BRAT) have won the National Club Championship for a third year in a row.

In what was a day of extremes with the morning stating off with very hot weather and the afternoon seeing gale force winds cause a complete course shutdown whilst race organisers got the course back together after the winds blew just about everything and everyone over.  As a result the final two events, the Mixed Division and the Premier Division's were reduced to an Aquathlon.

The Aquathlon did see some exciting racing with the Premier Female being won by the Bilby's and the Premier Male being won by the very strong BRAT team.

Tomorrow will see the Scody Just Tri It Triathlon and the Trystars kids race with over 110 people hitting the water but right now everyone is gong for a feed and a drink at Panthers World of Entertainment.

Sunday 7th October

Sunday 7 October saw the completion of the Scody Australian Triathlon Club Team's Championships with the running of the Scody Just Tri It Triathlon and Trystars Kids triathlon.

Over 120 athletes competed in these two events and some great racing was seen espcially with the 20 under 13 year olds who showed everyone just what triathlon is really about....getting out there and having a go.

Congratulations to Wagga's John Hovius who took out the Scody Just Tri It Triathlon in in a slick time of 32minutes 25 seconds.  Hovius was closly followed by Andrew Wilkinson (32mins 47secs) with 7 seconds to third place getter James Symonds.

Overall female honours went to Rebecca Wilson in 36mins 1 secs followed by Kylie Vaughan and Althea Kannane.

t3 Events would like to thank all our competitors over the weekend for making the two days so special and we look forward to seeing you all our female athletes at the Ramsay Health Care Triathlon Pink event on 20 October at Sydney Olympic Park.
