Frequently asked questions:
When is the TRYstars Triathlon?
The TRYstars triathlon takes place on Sunday 7 October 2007 at 8am. The event takes place in the enclosed course of the Sydney International Regatta Centre, Penrith NSW and is a great introduction to triathlon for kids from 7 – 13 years of age. There are two distances to choose from and t3 Events volunteers will make the day one to remember for the kids.
What is distance of the Kids TRYstars Triathlon?
There are two distances for the event:
- 7 – 9 years 50m swim / 1.5km ride / 500m run
- 10 – 13 years 100m swim / 3km ride / 1km run
The event is run in an enclosed area safe from cars and other bikes and parents will have ample opportunity to see the kids race and finish in front of the Regatta Centre Grandstand.
Is the swim safe?
Yes extremely safe. Not only is it run in the regatta centre Olympic rowing course but we will have Surf Lifeguards on hand to make sure everyone is safe and gets out of the water ready to cycle. If your child requires assistance it will be provided ASAP through board paddlers, rubber duckies and lifeguards close by. Your child’s safety is our priority and that is why we leave it in the hands of the professionals during the swim.
What should my child wear?
A pair of swimmers for the swim and when they enter transition they can put their t-shirt and shorts over their swimmers. Remember socks and shoes and a hat to keep the sun off their face.
What bike does my child require?
Any bike is fine as long as it is safe and has two wheels. Make sure you get your child’s bike services before coming out as it would be a shame to see them miss out on their day with a damaged bike. Also helmets are compulsory so make sure they remember their helmets.
